Temps are 54° warmer today than two days ago (currently 30° outside with blowing and drifting snow). Got all the vehicles running again. The TDI New Beetle sounded like it had cylinders full of rocks for about 30 seconds until everything warmed up and it smoothed out. I see a new battery in that car before too long - been sluggish in cold weather for several months now.

The 8N fired right up, and got a good workout plowing out the driveways, which will probably be filled right back up again in the morning due to the wind picking up.

Each time that I have a problem starting a tractor I think about doing it with a crank. Not a pretty thought. BUT, how many over the years had to be started that way and were expected to start every time? When I start to curse, I mean talk to the tractor, I think about a crank, like on the shelf, and say "OK" what did I not do right. What did I let get out of whack. What maintenance did I not perform. It is uaually me.

Good to hear the heat wave's coming this way - been 7-8 below last 2 nights - we'll even take a little snow when it warms up - if we have to. Paying the gas bill for heating has not been fun so far this year......

You guys can have those temps you"ve been describing!! It was down to 6 degrees here in S.E. Va. Saturday A.M., but very little wind. It warmed up nicely to about 29 before the day was over. Went down to Norfolk Int. Airport Sunday P.M.to pick up our daughter"s room mate flying in from San Jose, Cal. Sunday P.M. and the rain made driving miserable. She said the temps there had been in the 70"s since Christmas. We"ve got a storm warning for tonight up till tomorrow night. Calling for snow, rain, sleet and my daughter and her roomie are heading back to school near Lynchburg. The people in this part of the country can"t drive on a clear sunny day!! God forbid it should rain or snow! Hope all goes well for everybody in the cold weather spots. Me- I"m looking forward to the temps that make for good excuses to crack open a cold Silver Bullet when I get home from work! Ya"ll stay warm now.
