1000th Post - Plowing Snow

Most of our snow blew away with the 30mph+ winds that followed the storm, but I did take opportunity to do some light snow plowing with the 8N. Fired right up, and the filled rear tires didn't slip a bit.

If you look real close, you can see our Quarter Horse "Oakey" back by the hay barn wondering what I was doing up by the fence...

That's great ED.!! I knew you wouldn't let me down.
Saved it into my files.

BTW: We still do not have any that stayed on the ground below 4500ft.
The mountains have lots, but nothing here at the house> :(

Are you sure it's the 1000th ? Around here it has been FOGGY, can't hardly see the front yard for the last few days, fog lifts at 4:00, DARK by 4:30.....WHEEEEEE!! It's OK, I've got my jug.

Ed:

There was so little snow on Friday but Mutt really wanted to be the first one to show Olie the snow. We got more on Sunday, but Mutt was at work and I had to do all of the plowing and nobody here to operate the camera.

You guys call that snow. Up here in upstate NY we call that a hard frost. When it snows here, you wouldn't even see your tractor. Ran over a car that size with my snow blower last year.

I dunnno....

I wish I did.

His candid pics are always some of the best ever posted on this board.

Your pics are always "top of the line", Ed.

Awesome photography, IMO.

I agreeabout the photographic skills.

The "quarter horse"..........INTUITIVELY, though, remembers when HE, the horse, would have had to share the load with a fellow horse. I remember having to hitch up two (2) horses to pull a 9N outta the mud.

Really! The N was only to replace 1 work horse. REF: Henry Ford., circa 1940!

Great video, and love the commentary, too! Seems I saw someone post a week or two back from the 'nether regions' that they had already been plowing snow. Ours is just getting warmed up, but I say a respectful "no thank you" to the kind of snow our New York friend was bragging about...

Aw shucks... thanks! Actually, I'm an Industrial Designer (from Georgia Tech), and also studied architecture before changing majors - graphic design, photography and video production are all in my portfolio...

I have to share the credit with my oldest son, as some of the photos I post are ones I had him shoot so I could be in the pic. The apple didn't fall far from the tree there at all...

The "quarter horse"..........INTUITIVELY, though, remembers when HE, the horse, would have had to share the load with a fellow horse.

My Number Two son is my rancher and takes care of the horse - he wants to teach him to drive (good luck with an 11yo gelding!). I tell everyone we got a Quarter Horse because we couldn't afford the whole thing...

Ed,Your liable to be sick of that stuff by April lol:)

I don't think it will take nearly that long!

Thanks for all the kind words, and glad you're enjoying the photos!

OK, I have a little more snow than in this pic, and was trying to remove i5 when...2N gave up... ran fine for about 15 min then died.(2n has a 12v system, and keyed ignition). Returned to this forum, read the excellent posts about not starting (spark and fuel) and running for 3 min and then dying (condenser) and running 15 min then dying(jump ignition) checked spark, autolite plugs are blue/white hot, fuel runs thru lower screw on carb, went back out after 20 min research(here), tractor started and made it back to the barn. Was going to (semi permenantly) jump ignition to finish my project and then...turns over but will not fire... as I understand the post from BruceVA, I should be able to jump the ignition and finish plowing w/o any issues, then replace the ignition tomorrow? What am I missing??? Please help a NOOB :)This maching was doing a FANTASTIC job of snow removal until it ran for 15 min and quit...
Tractor has fuel(turned on)spark(blue) and jumped ignition...

It all melted two hours later.

My mom is from Rome - know right where you're at. You'll need to fix your pic link for it to show - you posted your local drive URL...

Although, having moved to the Middle West from Buford, I suppose your picture shows about four snowflakes in the air at the same time (which qualifies as a 'blizzard' in GA). Bet all the 7-11 stores had a run on milk and bread, too... :p

d, close but no cigar. 5 snowflakes and the rest is sleet. White anyway but if we get much more it starts breaking limbs off trees. David..............

Ollie does sound good. But he does sound a little lonely. Maybe you need to get him a mate? Leena?

Don't forget that Sven might get jealous.

Being a front mount, it may be getting snow in the front and getting the distributor wet. Remove the cap and spray with wd 40. HTH
