(Cold) Seat Time

Winter is here! We have had about a foot of snow in the past few day with a little more in the forecast. The big township plow does a pass through my driveway; U-shaped around a pasture of about an acre; but the final cleanup I do myself.
Got the 2n out of the barn for its first snow moving job and it impressed me very much. The modified Dearborn loader (6 foot wide bucket) is perfect for moving the white stuff. Temps were close to 30º F so not too bad for working outside.

Glad that you too look at it as something that you can enjoy. My drive is pretty long and most folks in the winter think I'm nuts. I kind of look at snow removal as a hobby and I get to use my favorite toys like my 2n and my Cub Cadet.

Around here the economy is so bad that the county doesn't plow nearly as much as they should or used to. State is doing the same thing too.

Bob, it is an enjoyable chore. I didn't have a tractor when I was a kid but i do now!!
We have a proactive township here; they offer to plow driveways for a flat $160 a year. The road plow just takes a small detour through my drive and the others who subscribe to this service. It provides some extra revenue for the township, a service to the taxpayers and some extra employment for the road crews. Win-win-win

BTW Dunk; -3ºC and overcast, -4 overnight, wind W 7kmh changing to SE tonight and N tomorrow, light snow (1-2cm)
Kinda makes me wish I was in Georgia :wink:

We may be 70s on Christmas, or ice stormed in, no tellin.

It is very nice right now sittin out in the yard drankin beer.
