What are the big differences between the 3? What are a sherman trans. and step up trans? Did any come with live hydraulics and pto?

9N made from 1939 to 1942, 2N made from 1942 to 1947, 8N made from 1948-1952. Thats just on of the differnces. Also the 9N and 2N had 3 speed trannys and the 8N a 4 speed. None of them have live PTO or hyds. In late 1950 they changed from a front mount distubutor to a side mount which made them a little bit easier to work on when it came time to do a tune up. Now if you are say looking at one of them from 100 foot away its hard to tell which one of the 3 it might be because they all look the same at a distance

Ben..... ...virtually NO difference in engines. 2N was Ford wartime 3-speed 9N mfg'd until 1948 when 4-speed 8N's came out. The Sherman was a DEALER installed STEP-UP tranny. NO LIVE PTO or HYDRAULICS..... .Dell
