I want to adjust the brakes on my 48 right side.
Manual says turn adjuster "clockwise". before I waste a lot of time,, is that looking down from the top?? or up from the bottom?

thanx Marc

In order to adjust the brakes, you"ll have to get on your knees behind the rear axle and remove the small tab covering the screw adjustor. With a flashlight, you can look directly at the screw and the clockwise direction will be obvious. After you think you"ve got the brakes adjusted and the left and right pedels are level, spin the wheel and actuate the brake a couple times with your hand. This will ensure the brakes are seated to the new adjustment. After the first spin, you will probably have to adjust the brakes again. You must have the axle resting safely on blocks to do this, and do only one side at a time - the other tire should rest safely on the ground with the rear wheels chocked and the brake locked. The tranny will have to be in neutral which requires the brake lock and chocks. Castor.

I know when looking up at something it seems backwards but clockwise is still the same no matter how you look at it up down or sideways. Righty tighty lefty loosey.

Ditto.. you can only get your screwdriver in their one way to get the star wheel to turn.

The original poster should be fine.. at very least he has a 50/50 chance to get it right.. and if he gets it wrong the first time.. all he has to do is run it back the other way!
