2N dash board installation

Matt & I are trying to put the dash back on his 2N. It seems that the throttle contol rod is in the way. Does the control rod need to come completley off to the get the dash board back in place?

It dont have to come off...I had fun remembering how mine went back on. Hope these pics jog your memory. Easy to scratch the dash...Made me prefer my 41 with the dash built into the steering column....May look for a new dash. I dont like the position of the hole for the temp guage. May just do without a temp. guage if I replace the dash....They come cheap on ebay.

(quoted from post at 19:33:11 08/19/08) What's the gizmo on the back in the last pic. ?
ome kinda adustable pan seat. Looks like it slides forward and back. The seat was after market and rusted out. I tossed it. I have a good spring. It is for the flip pan seat... Spring is good. I am looking for a good flip seat.

Any scratches? Its imposible to describe how that goes on. I wish I had more pics when I was putting mine back on. I got it on after several choice words. May take it back off thou. I dont like the extra hole. Its a good idea but they had to cut into the hood to do it!! They used a torch   That old sheet metal has been cut and weld alot  To cover the rusted out holes for the most part..

We did get a few small scratches, but nothing serious. Will need to go over a number of areas and nuts & bolts with a small brush anyway.

Dan,
I've been watching your progress and pictures on this one all along. Haven't commented yet.
One word comes to mind.
Nice.
I'm in the midst of a teardown and repaint on one my self right now.
Don't know if my work qualifies as a restoration.
But I'm feeling the same sense of pride and satisfaction as you surely are.
Keep posting these pics.
I enjoy watching your progress.

Thanks for the compliment. This is Matt's tractor aka Mutt in Co. He has done most of the work on it. I am just here to help with the heavy lifting and advice.

Here is a pic of Mutt and Olie:

My tractor is "Sven" he will get a similar treatment this winter

BTW, I will be in Minneapolis and Buffalo in October for a retirement party, where in MN do you live? maybe we could get together and even include Colin.

I'm in Columbia Heights - first suburb N of Mpls.
I'd be glad to join you fellows for some tractor talk over lunch or dinner or beers.
Colin and I have talked about it a couple of times but haven't done it yet.
My email is open.

I'm all for it! There also another board member, Paul in MN ... I can't speak for him ... but he's about 20 minutes from my house in Minneapolis.

Colin
