I need one of those glass jars and the hardware that goes with it. I didn't see one on this website by itself, rather the entire air cleaner. I saw one on another website, but it was called a Harco. Will that one work on my origional air cleaner jar holder thingey? The Harco looks a little different than mine.

I do not have the glass jar but a metal container. It was cleaned today and the ease of cleaning and the abundance of material in the oil was impressive.

The design of fifty years ago is simple and efficient and didn’t cost $15 to service like my current equipment.

TISCO sells the bail in two sizes. Either will fit the original top/intake/hood panel part. Functional, BUT they are not like the originals from what I know. As for jars, the owners manual (if that is what it is called - single sheet - both sides) from N-News archives shows a Ball/Mason Jar as the jar in the picture of the cyclone precleaner. I"d just find one of those at a flea market and not pay the exorbanant price from TISCO or ebay.

My $.02
Regards,
Larry

The original Harco air cleaner had a glass jar on it that had "Air Cleaner Service Co." molded into the glass with or without a raised ridge around the center of the jar. Many just got replaced with a mason jar, though. It's discussed on the Smith's site. Check it out. I'm not sure what the new "correct" jars and bails look like at Don's. I'm curious though.

You can get them on eBay all the time. Here is a link to one posting now.

Good luck,

Harco made the original air precleaner assemblies but there were 3 different styles of "bails" (the clip thingy that helps hold the jar up). Reproductions are now available. A harco kit would be correct, so don't worry.
