I'm attempting to take some good advise received on this forum and spruce up my side mount distributor. Just 8NS wants 20 bucks for a bushing!!! Pt No 12120. At this point I'm thinking the most economical thing to do keep the wife and drive (well, tow actually) the 8N into a pond. It has been sitting there loooking pretty and sucking up money for some time now and making me tired all over. . . |

| “It’s unwise to pay too much . . . but it’s worse to pay too little. When you pay too much, you lose a little money . . . that is all. When you pay too little, you sometimes lose everything, because the thing you bought was incapable of doing the thing it was bought to do. The common law of business balance prohibits paying a little and getting a lot. It can’t be done. If you deal with the lowest bidder, it is well to add something for the risk you run. And if you do that, you will have enough to pay for something better.”– JOHN RUSKIN

| If Don says it costs $20 then you can be sure you won't find it cheaper anyplace else. Besides, he'll give you more than $20 worth of help on the phone. I'm more than happy to give Don my business. |

| Don't know too much about the parts cost angle. But I can tell you that Don B is very helpful - especially to us in the "newbie" arena of 8Ns. He spent more time with me over the phone to be sure I got exactly what was needed. I'll contact him again whenever I need anything else. He really seems to know what he is doing. I've done a little checking around on various parts costs and I thought their costs were reasonable. |

| hi lars, i have ordered about $1100 worth of parts from Just 8ns in the last couple months. i have checked prices of most of these items with other suppliers and found Just 8ns to be the best price. the quality and service is excellent and don b is a good guy and helpful. by the way, i had to have all my spindle and kingpin bushings handmade and can tell you it wasnt cheap. good luck |

| Old tractors like old cars, require replacement parts as they wear out. You can always buy a new car or tractor and not put up with it for a while. Or if you cannot afford new, buy a remanufactured one for about $9,000.00. This should also give you a couple of years of trouble free service. Happy Motoring CLaus |

| I understand how you feel about $20 for a small bushing. But you have to think how many of these are manufactured now. How many are sold in a years time. Ask a machine shop how much it would cost for them to make one. Mass production does make things a lot cheaper. Besides you will probably never need another one in you're life time. If it makes you'r N run better it will be money well spent. Dave <*)))>< |

| | I would tend to agree with Brad. If Don is charging $20, it is as good a price as you're likely to see. On a slightly different note, I am constantly amazed the availability and relative cost of parts for a 50+ year old machine. I recall the sticker shock I would get when I looked at parts for a 20 yr old motorcycle, when I could find them. |

| | Bet it is still cheaper than your local tractor supply house. By the way received my parts yesterday Don, everything was there and just what I needed to complete my project. Brad |
