So i have a question about the original starter relay ,when you do a 12v conversion, can you bye pass that relay and just go the the new ford style starter mouted relay ?

You would loose the safety start system of you did that. Your 9N uses a mechanical devise to actuate that start relay. When you pushed the start button on the later 8N's that sent ground to the solenoid for the starter. BTW, that 9N start switch doesn't care if it's 6 or 12 volt. It will work just fine.

9Ns did not come with a relay, it's a simple switch. why do u want to replace it with something different?

Almost anything is possible, but your 9N does not have a relay, just a switch. Next, there are no holes in 9N starter for mounting a relay. Next, are you going to forgo the neutral safety start provision?

ALL FORD 9N & 2N tractors did not use a starter motor solenoid; those weren't introduced until July, 1947 with the 8N Model. The 9N/2N starter motor had 1-wire. The 8N and up had a starter motor which used a solenoid with 3-wires connected. Starters don't care if 6V or 12V BTW. I don't have a clue as to what the "new Ford starter mounted relay" is.
