After several days of trouble shooting I have the 9N running. Had spark all plugs fuel, even cleaned carb, nothing worked. Checked the spark at the coil today, it was sparking out
the side of the nipple. Swaped a coil ffom a other vehicle and it started and runs good. 12 volt with canister coil.

In the 50s and early 60s we took our cars to a mechanic at his house. He did tune-ups and break jobs.
After a tune-up, he poured a sauce pan of warm water over the ignition system with the engine running and turned off the lights in his garage. If there were any visible sparks or the engine faltered, the car not leave until those things were fixed.

Phlash, just for fun, try cleaning that coil from dust etc. and put it back on. Electricity wants to find the easiest path (less resistance) to ground and sometimes dirt provides just that.

When I was a kid there was a local drunk and if you gave him enough money for a beer he would reach in on a flathead 4 or 6 cylinder engine spread his hands out and grab all of the spark plugs and shut the engine off. To a 10 year old kid thats pretty impressive.
