9N EZ Ride Seat

Hi,

Does anyone know the part number for a 9N EZ ride seat pivot support rod or where I can get one? I can't seem to find one. I only find 4" and 6" ones. The 9N one measures 9" from one bolt to the other. This is the seat that has the shock behind the seat.

Thanks!

There was never a 9N EZ Ride Seat. The MONROE EZ-RIDE seat was first introduced in September, 1947 as part of a line of DEARBORN dealer-supplied accessories with the advent of the 8N Model. You can try places like STEINER TRACTOR and nnalert for some EZ-RIDE parts.

According to this post there is one. The gray one is exactly what my 9N has.

I had one of those seats but I think I let it go with the tractor.
I would think a good car parts store could match it if you have the original.

OK, correction. I have a copy of the original drawing and no revision is listed showing an alternate(9N)version was made but, it must have came later, after 1947, possibly not til after 1950 as all my Dearborn Accessory Catalogs only show the one model and no reference to a 9N version. Note the 9N style has the shock in back. The MONROE EZ-RIDE seats were limited to 150 lbs load capacity. How many farmers do you know that weigh 150 lbs? The EZ's were prone to failure. Also noteworthy is that the 9N/2N pan seat was not a flip-up style. The flip-up seat did not come out until the 8N Model in July, 1947. In my opinion, the EZ-Rider is a novelty item. OK for show but not a practical item in the real world. Here is some info you may or may not find useful. STEINER TRACTOR and other suppliers offer some new parts -see LINK.
