Bought a 1952 8n two months ago (has proof meter) and over the weekend we were cleaning and tearing the block down and found a long crack that is probably 12 inches long. Would this be a problem? It end right we’re my finger is.

That sucks. Anyone needs parts :( (joking). Could this be a reason that the motor wouldn’t have enough compression because I don’t think it had any.

As for the crack I don't think it will affect compression as for issues the crack may cause like over heating YES.... Its hard to dump good money into a cracked block that crack will always be a issue of some kind...

I volt replace if a gambler roll the dice...

A up draft carb does not work well as a down draft carb I spec it is hard to get it to run'N...

If you were closer I could set you up with a side mount engine to build..
