Okay to leave 2N PTO Disengaged??

I recalled reading something that mentioned leaving the PTO disengaged was like driving around with the clutch partially depressed?? Though could have been for a completely different machine...

No need to have the PTO engaged unless you want to use the 3 pt.
The hydraulics run off the PTO shaft, so they won't work if it's disengaged.
If you're worried about the shaft, there is a cover for that. [b:4eed298345]Here on YT[/b:4eed298345]
 
What the others said is true, but to answer your question, no. The clutch doesn't know if the pto is engaged or not.
