Can you check the cam follower pin for wear without removing the top cover? Can you go in the dip stick plate location and feel the pin for wear?

I have bought two cheap endoscope / cameras that plug into my phone but have not been able to get either to work . They have a 6' cable , are waterproof and have built in led lights . I don't think you could get a visual or feel the pin with the top cover in place . With the camera you can run it up inside and snap a pic then zoom in . The odds are strong that it is worn . The OEM pins are slightly smaller than the 5/16 ( .3125 ) replacement pins and the possibility of cracking the shaft are slim but do exist when hammering in a larger pin . The old Ford FE and small block motors use the correct size pin on their camshafts . I think Zane has the OEM pins .

I too have the tiny TV cams that pug into my computer or Surface. One works great till MS updates 10 then because my computer talents are sad I need help to get it going again. Best one came from Ebay for $14 and has a 15' cord and a rea bright and adjustable led. Could work to see the pin but it would difficult to maneuver. The am follower pin is simply a dowel pin and any hardware like Ace should have them.

Very difficult to see cam follower pin looking in round side cover. Dennis Carpenter has the pins ,the correct one is not expensive. Also order gasket set. Comes with o rings. Fun to get the pin out. Adjustments are fun too. Folks here will help.
