Just to say I never have taken a part a tractor before

Now Can anyone tell me what tractor this is 9n or 2n or ?

The brakes are big I think 2 inches X 16 inches.

I fractured the collar and then took the axle to get the bearing pressed off

No sn The engine was rebuilt by a company in the twin cities mn years ago

Thank You

Judging by the I beam radius rods, I would say it's an early 9N. The other guys can probably pin it down to a 2 or 3 year window.

Thank You

Just to let you know When I bought this years ago The guy said it was a 8 n So shows how much I knew about n ford tractors and I put a lot of money into this But it works great except I was getting sick of no brakes<I am going to putp>The loader on it cost me over 2000.00 But the tube loader kept breaking and was only bolted on 1 side in the front of the tractor,The pump must be a great one because when I changed the hydrolic fluid there was so much slag from the past owners attempting to weld the loader and it still works great after 4 pto shafts I had a new platform made for it Now it runs 100% true.It need new rear tiers But I haven't won the lottery yet so no tiers

It old and deserves a good home and the only thing I have older than me lol And one heck of a snow plow

I just noticed the rear axles are solid where the fenders bolt up. 9n and early 2n where solid. Late 2n was open. My vote is still 2n. But now early 2n.

ALL 9N's and 2N's are Ford-Ferguson Models. Introduced on June 29, 1939 as the new Ford with Ferguson System 9N tractor. The 9N model was produced from 1939 thru 1942. The 2N was produced from 1942 thru January, 1947. Ferguson was gone, fired by Henry II, and no longer part of the company. The 8N was introduced on July 7,1947. Google tractor ID/HISTORY, John Smith. get the essential manuals. See picture where serial number is stamped:

Since the stamp steel dash didn't come out until late '41 there is a slight change it's a 9n but agree it's probably a 2n
