Look up a Lepiota mushroom. You cant identify without also looking a bottom structure. Also looks like could be a very poisonous mushroom called destroyed Angle or something like that. You have to really know your mushrooms before taking a chance. Morels in spring are all safe to eat because easy to identify.

We use to have a mushroom expert that posted here I am serious but I forgot his handle... I think he was from the left coast none of use on the right cost take them seriously... I buy my mushrooms at the grocery store top shelf between the chilly beans and canned corn...

Go to mdc.mo.gov. Our State Conservation department has a guide on mushrooms that you can download or read online.

I had no intention of eating them. just wondering what they are in case one of the dogs or grand kids should ingest one.

What remains important about toadstools and mushrooms are the following facts:
They are the same and no scientific distinction exists between them.
They cannot be defined by shape, color, or appearance, since there is no standard differentiation between them.
Mushrooms aren?t fungi with caps and stems while toadstools lack caps and stems.
Fungi are not defined by level of toxicity: anything classed as either may be nontoxic, mildly toxic, hallucinogenic or extremely poisonous.
People should never consume anything classed as toadstool or mushroom without having it first examined by a professional mushroom hunter.
