Check chains/stabilizer chain question

I can never think of the actual name. They go from the tractor to the implement. I bought a set here, they failed pretty quickly. I copied that design, and that set made it about 3 years, and they have now failed. I only use them when I’m bush hogging, or using my carryall. I’m not feeling industrious enough to make a new set (only one side failed though). Where can a get a “heavy duty” set?

SPEECO sells them.

05020100 DS521 20521 1 Stay chain assembly; fits category 1 pins; fastens to top link pin on tractor and to lift
arm pin on equipment; requires two per tractor; yellow zinc plated.

Find a SPEECO dealer. Tractor supply comes to mind.

Never seen them on the shelf there. Can TSC order me one?

What model tractor are you using? ALL 9N/2N models only had draft control so a set of limiter chains would help keep a brush hog or mower at a set height. The 8N and up models all came with POSITION CONTROL as well as draft control so implement height was set with that, no need for limiter chains. TSC use to sell them, but then they use to sell a lot of farm & tractor stuff. Nowadays they are nothing but a glorified overpriced hardware and pet food store. One example is a 6V Front Mount coil. TSC lists at $40, nnalert at $25.

Going on a 52 8n. I like the chains with my carryall. I don't have to have the PTO running to carry loads. I also use them with my bushhog, so I can transport without the blade turning.

The best thing you can do is install stabilizer brackets under both fenders and use both sway bars to eliminate the banging on the chains and rubbing arms on tires set close in.
Just MHO

You are thinking of different chains, not the ones he is talking about. that said I use stabilizer bars and the chains with my brush hog mower. I have the set sold at this site and I can't feature them breaking.

I may not have gotten the chains from this site, I do not see them listed . may have been ebay and I see that just*8ns has them.

I broke down, and made a new set today. Permanently attached them to the bush hog. Hopefully, I’ll get industrious and make a set for my carryall before I need to use it. Had almost exactly $19 in material.

The chain is what broke on my store bought set. Dropped the bushog too fast one day, and the little slotted tab just sheared the chain in to. The set I made, the tab that goes over the pins finally just wore out. I believe if I had used some better/thicker steel, it would have been a lifetime product. I think I’m going to like having them permanently attached.

I have a set I torched a dozen years ago out of 1/4" plate and gr43 chain. I dropped the mower fast this last mowing and promptly broke the chain hook slot. :)

most trojans don't pop up big screens and tell you that you are infected. many times they simply do things like data-mine your computer, log your keystrokes, track your browser, etc. They do this in the background so that you DON'T notice.. because if you DON'T notice, then you won't get your system cleaned, and the owner of the trojan can mine more data from your computer.
