front blade plow

So,
There's one for sale by me for for $500. Claims complete setup. I have an email out too them, but would like to know if this price seems right for such a rig?
The photo is of their tractor with the plow on it. No closeups or anything.

Thanks

It appears to be a dearborn frame and blade. Can't really tell much from the photo except that the blade edge doesn't seem to have a lot of wear. Typically sell in my area for $300/$400 in good
working order. Of course put a foot of snow on the ground and the price will be higher. Just before the start of winter is the best time to sell. You will also need chain or wheel weight or fluid in
tires. You will want to check out my U tube video on the link to help you know want to look for to better Nego a price.

I don't know what that plow is.
It's not a typical Dearborn snow plow as it
doesn't have the rounded ends on it and it
isnt the Dearborn dozer blade as it's too
tall. Also, the height of the push pipes is
too high for a Dearborn. They attach to the
plow lower.
And, I see no evidence of any kind of front
brackets which bolt to the front axles.
I'm thinking it might be shop built.
I would contact them and ask for more photos
of it - how it lifts and how it swivels. How
the push pipes attach to the rear axle.
Around here a complete Dearborn plow would
sell for higher that that. Like $600 or even
a little more. A good shop built plow might
hit $500 if it is well built and not crude.
An N, properly set up with rear ballast and
good tire chains makes an awesome little
snow mover.

Thanks guys.

But you know what? I didn't even think about needing the extra weight and more for traction to push snow with it. I don't have chains and no fluid, and I don't plan on adding them.
I plow with a back blade now and I do fine. Figured just to see what the thoughts were. It's not around the block so I don't know if I'll check it out in person. If they respond to my email, I'll get more info then.....

Front plow does a better job - easier.
You don't get a crick in your neck either.
Photo shows a newer tractor but the same
style front blade.
I doubt you'll push snow this high with a
back blade.
