PTO Shaft Seal Leaking

I have a 1949 8N with a leak from the PTO
shaft. As far as I know it has the original
1-1/8 inch shaft. Other than cost is there
any disadvantage to purchasing a PTO
Conversion Shaft Assembly (Part No: 9N700-
38) from this site rather than restoring
the original? How is the quality on this
part? The reason I ask is that it is much
less expensive than others I have seen. How
about the quality of the PTO Override
Clutch (Part No: C660F)? Thanks for any
help you can provide.

I replaced mine with the 1 3/8. So far, no issues.
One more advantage to them is that you can then use a push
button release ORC instead of having to pin it on. Makes it much
easier to take it off when you're not using the PTO and cover the
shaft with a cap to keep anything from getting caught up in it.

If either of mine ever leak again I will do as Royse advises, but hang the old one on the wall for the day you might need it. If you get rid of it , you will wish had kept it and if you keep it, you will never need it. Welcome to the group!

Thanks! I think I?ll hang it below the axle I replaced about 15 years ago. They?ll go nicely together.😀
