Hydraulic control arm

I have 3 8n control arms and all of them have some slight bend to them, is the arm supposed to be perfectly straight or is the bow in them acceptable?

From John Smith, who knows as much if not more than anyone living about these old Ford tractors.

One more aspect to note: insert two bolts in the holes shown and note the arm tip (ball) relative to the bolts. That is important, not a straight line along the full length of edge of arm. See John Smith's photo and compare to this and it will become clear.

(quoted from post at 11:18:37 06/30/18) Thanks for posting that picture JMOR, hadn't seen it before.
ou are welcome. Just passing it along. It is 'stolen' from somewhere, but .............

The one in my 48 looked more like I should string it and shoot and deer with it. I laid it on the shop floor and tapped it back straight. I decided it
needed just one more tap. When I did the little extension and ball end popped off and shot across the machine shed. It wasn?t even touching
the floor - just the vibration against the cement floor I guess. I couldn?t find the piece so I went in the house and found a used good one online
and had it shipped. The next day I found the little piece under a tractor tire lug. I welded it up and now have an extra on the shelf.

I am putting mine back togther but for the life of me I cant remember what goes on the male pin sticking off the control arm. I have everything else figured out but I don't remember what goes on that pin. I hate to sound stupid but sometimes I am.

Nothing!

It looks like the skirt of the hydraulic piston hits it to stop the hydraulics from pushing it out to far.
