I replaced the bendix today when I put it back in and hit the starter the tractor started but the starter kep spinning until I took the battery cable off. Now what?

If it has a solenoid it could be stuck contacts causing it to stay running. If it is a new style starter drive ,I have had them stay engaged for the first several starts then it would be ok after a few starts. If it is doing that increase the throttle RPMs before starting it so the drive will kick out faster.

Ok should have said as soon as I connect battery back it try’s to run so maybe stuck seleniid even though its new

(quoted from post at 17:31:11 06/11/18) Yes,stuck solenoid or it could be wired wrong,or the wrong solenoid.

Thanks it’s not wired wrong so selenoid must have went bad
Knock the solenoid sharply with a screwdriver handle or hammer
handle. That will sometimes jar them loose. I've had several do it.
On the ones that freed up, if they didn't do it again, they have
been good. If they stuck again, for me, they did it over and over.

Make sure the small wire isn't grounded somewhere though.
That will do the same thing.

so hit the starter and rehooked everything up. Now nothing to the solenoid no click nothing. Took it off and returned it to TSC and am waiting for another to come in tomorrow to see if this remedies the problem.
