8N head gasket leaking

My head gasket is seeping on the left side by the oil filter. I don't have time to tear it down right now. Is there some kind of
sealer I can pour in the cooling system to get by for a while. I assume the head is warped. How much warpage is allowed before I have
to have the head planed? How much can be planed off before I need a new head? This tractor is only used for light to medium work. I
think it also might be seeping into one of the cylinders but I haven't seen any water in the oil. The head bolts seem to be tight.

Warm the engine up and retorque the head bolts. "Seem to be tight" isn't good enough.

" seem to be tight. "

Close only counts in horse shoes and hand grenades.

Get out your torque wrench and torque it to specs as Bob said.

Any white smoke in the exhaust. At Checker they sell a package of round tablets that are stop leak products. I had good luck with it or Silver Sealer, I was told one time there was a Cadillac engine that required stop leak after the heads were removed and new gaskets installed or it would leak do to the gasket alone would not keep all the coolant where it belonged. No idea if its true.

Just curious here but I would be a bit nervous to put a torque wrench on the head bolts of a 60+ year old tractor that I is running and I am trying to avoid to tear it down. I'm not trying to say you are wrong and I don't have much to base that fear on. Just afraid it might go wrong on me if I tried it. I have a similar issue and I'm wondering if I should try it.

You don't have to torque them while the engine is running.
Torque them after it is ran to warm the engine to temp and shut it down.
If the normal torque values break something, it has other issues.
