8N Seat Style

I just bought an 8N that has a different seat style than I had ever owned. My past seat was a spring steel curved flat bar. Can someone tell me about this seat style.

Looks like a knodler seat. If so it is after market. There have been post in this forum about them.

Yes. It's a Knoedler.
I had one and hated it.
I traded it for an original seat and am sure
I got the better end of the trade.

My tractor came with one of those 23 years ago. It's good for two things: Pinching your fingers and cracking walnuts.

I have a similar Knoedler seat on my 51.

Quite a nice seat if one is not tall. Considerably more comfortable than the OEM spring pan seat but not as good as the Rest-O-Ride.

Yes, it is the KNOEDLER seat, an optional brand supplied as an accessory. Ford offered the MONROE E-Z Ride seat too, also a Dearborn dealer accessory, in addition to the standard flip-up pan seat. later, Hundred Series models offered the Rest-O-Ride seat -the best out the bunch.

That's my complaint, I am 6'2" and have moved it all the way back and my legs barely fit between seat and steering wheel. Thanks.
