Got some rain on it about 24 hours after I cut, so I had to rake it a little sooner than I'd like to keep it from spoiling underneath. Smelled a little sour when I raked, but when I checked just now, it was smelling more like it should. Hopefully it will turn out okay!

Thanks for the pic. and the memories. I used to love the first cuttings. Especially the smell of fresh cut hay.
Course, the 'Dump rake' I had to use, made the shoulders, get sore a LOT!!! :lol: I liked the 'Trail mower' job....... better!!!

That was one of my jobs when I was big enough to drive a tractor. Then after was dry I climbed up on a wagon and loaded bales the rest of the day. The guys stacking in the barn thought I was crazy. They thought it was better to work in the shade than to stand out in the sun loading bales on a wagon. I liked it because of the breeze on the ridge tops.
