Aluminum Oxide Media

Is it acceptable to blast the core of the M/S Carb. with Aluminum Oxide Media, if so
what is the best grit size.

Acceptable in my book as that is what I always use. I would use fine media as carbs are easy to clean. Be extremely careful to not blast the threaded openings, especially the 1/4-40 threads as they will be gone instantly. better to plug those openings. I also back the air pressure down to 30psi or even less.

I've never used it but then I don't media blast the internals of my carbs anyway. I only blast the external housings after I plug all orifices. I use a tumbler after I split the halves. Soaking in a good a carb cleaner is essential. I buy in bulk from NAPA and avoid the new EPA-mandated watered down crap sold at many places today. I like soaking for a few days then air blasting clean.
