Have a Ford 2n.Ran great but now doesn't want to take the gas without stumbling.Nothing has changed since it ran great.Neighbor said his was a governor linkage stuck.Mine will start and idle but won't take gas unless It is almost full choked.

hi junior, welcome to YT :)

how's your fuel flow? with the valve at the sediment bowl open and the plug removed from the bottom of the carb, the flow should fill a pint jar in 2 minutes or less.

Yea fuel is good.Starts up fine.Idles
fine. But it will not take gas unless I have
choke almost completely closed.This just
started happening.I have the original carb
that came with it I'll put it on tommorow
and see if it helps.

Since you have verified fuel delivery past the float valve, needing choke to run symptoms bring four suspects to mind.

- Incorrect float level + Should be 1/4" space between float and gasket with carb inverted.
- Distributor not advancing + Check with timing light.
- Vacuum leak + With engine running, spray starter fluid at all junctions that have a gasket and are under vacuum.
- Weak spark + Should be blue/white and easily jump a 1/4" gapped spark plug.
