Is there a gasket where the sediment bowl screws into the tank? I have a leak and was wondering if there is a gasket

I put some plumbers tape on it ...problem solved

Best be careful w/ that stuff; that's why I suggested the Gasoila.

The white stuff isn't gas resistant. The yellow stuff is.

And too much could end up in your sediment bowl.

Which did you use, white or yellow?

Are you certain the leak is coming from the NPT end of Bulb Assembly? More often than not, leaks occur from the valve stem assembly as that has the only working mechanical wear parts. There is a rubber, sometime vinyl, seal on the stem that gets chewed up over time and will cause leaking. It can be purchased for about $6 -much cheaper than a whole new bulb assembly. The Fuel Sediment Bulb has an NPT thread which screws into the gas tank. As with a lot of aftermarket parts nowadays made in Cheena, you can get junk ones out of the box. I once had purchased a unit with boogered up NPT threads and it really stripped out the gas tank I was installing it on. You also need to understand what an NPT thread is ?it is tapered. Small end goes in and as it screws inward creates its own seal as large end engages. Each rotation every time it goes in crushes the threads over to seal so it may need to go in another revolution or so to create a new seal. I avoid using Teflon Tape, white or yellow at all costs, as it is only temporary band-aid fix and has its problems as well. I found GASOILA years ago, and I never had leaking issues again. Do the job right the first time. You don?t want to have to worry about fuel leaking ?that?s a major safety issue. The best GASOILA product for use on our sediment bulbs is the GASOILA E-SEAL one -see LINK below.
