Put a new 1 wire alternator on my 12 volt conversion several weeks ago, and after a day of work Saturday noticed engine temp climbing and belt finally gave up. So I proved that I do indeed need to change the pulley on the modern alternator. Noticed 2 pulleys on the YT site. Can I go wrong by getting the one that mentions the 1 wire?

o rocket science here, just use pulley that matches the original tractor belt size. Simple as that.

Both of those YT pulleys indicate a 5/8" belt, so assume that is the original belt. I also don't see a belt on the YT site, any idea where we can get the original belt?

riginal belt may not work for you. It is the cross-section that matters. The length will vary with your alternator mounting scheme.

i GUESS YOU DID NOT LOOK REAL HARD. They do list a belt for your 2n with a 12 volt alt mod.

I looked as hard as it should take to find an alt belt. Appreciate the kind words buddy. Still don't see it in the electrical section. No worries, I found it in my Styner catalog.

Alternatively thanks Hobo...very helpful.

Well then , look in the cooling section where it is! It is a fan belt.

Interesting that on my Tisco belt packaging it list the part as a Fan/ALTERNATOR belt. All worked fine except in the end, although I have a 12V conversion on mine, I had to use the belt that is designed for a non-converted system. The pulley fit my alternator fine, and all is well in the 2N world once again.
