Saturday shift at the factory

The small, high tech foundry near me is
working overtime this week. They're
running a Saturday shift today.
I know the owner so he lets me come
over and use one of their sandblast
cabinets as long as I don't interrupt
production.
I showed the photo of the rims I'm
working on in a post below. Those are
too big to go into the blast cabinet;(
These are the original rim to center
bolts, nuts and washers from them.
I put them in a plastic flower pot that
has holes in the bottom and shake them
around as I blast them.
Works pretty good and saves buying new
bolts. Doing these only took about 5
minutes.
The foundry makes some pretty cool
stuff.
The last photo is of a batch of tail
fins from Army mortar rounds they are
making.
They also cast new Marvel Schebler
carbs there which I have posted about
before.
Just a Saturday morning post here that
is kinda Ford Tractor related.
Hope you all get some time in on your
tractors this weekend.

Having friends with STUFF is waaaay COOL!!! :) Especially on a March day in Minnesota!!

The luckiest stiff in tractor town
Had a high tech foundry neighbor
Let him hang around
As long as he didn't get in the way
He could use the blaster on a Saturday
Saved him spending time and money in town
:D

DOH!
Just had to revise it when I saw I'd used "town" twice.

On the rusty lugs in a flowerpot he brought down . . .

to be cont'd . . . or not. :D

Jerry-
I use a local bump shop, know the owner and guys there, but not really buddies, and he/they allow me to come in and use their sandblaster when I need to for small parts. For large items like sheet metal and rims they will sandblast those themselves, but only when things are slow and not working on customer projects. They did all my 8N sheet metal back in 2003 when I restored my tractor then. They basted, primed, and painted it all and even bumped out all the dents. It cost me $180 to do al that. You might want to think about now getting those 5/8-18 rear rim nuts, bolts, and washers cad plated. Check a local plating facility as they too will often toss in your parts when they do a run.
