I can pick this plow up cheap the tips of the shares are rusted off are worn off it looks like the tips just rusted away. Are the shares still available worst case I can weld something to make them work. I have seen tips welded onto them and read Zane stated he has welded up a worn set...

Hobo, the tips of the shares can be built up as needed or hard surface applied to them to prevent them from being worn so fast.
Also a fellow over on the link_disallowed by the name of Scott PA had a lot of NOS plow parts awhile back, you might check with him.

Unless things have changed, shares and mold boards for prior model Dearborn plows have been NLS for over ten years.

Good News and Bad News. FWIW: NLS -means No Longer Serviced, translated, parts are no longer made. This is true for the early Ferguson-Sherman, Ferguson, and Dearborn Prior Model Moldboard Plows. The Dearborn 10-8 Model was the 12" Plow; the 10-10 was the 10" plow; and the 10-1 was the 14" plow. Those were all made and supplied before Ford Tractor changed the plow design and introduced the Economy Plow. You may get lucky and find someone with a NOS part on their shelf and willing to part with, but, since odds are against that, price may prohibit purchase. You can try Osmundson, Sweigard Bros, or George Bradish but chances are slim they have any parts to offer. The good news is that parts are available for the Dearborn/Ford Economy Plows, at least the 14" and 16" models. The 12" models are usually NLS, but, I have seen some suppliers list them. Prior Model and Economy Plow parts are not interchangeable, at least not without adding modified special parts, but these are NLS as well. Many have had the points welded up by a blacksmith or machine shop. If you are near an Amish or Mennonite community, try them. Often tractor/rural fall harvest shows have a blacksmith display set up and you can check with them as well. I will caution you to brace yourself for sticker shock if you do go that route. Many years ago I did exactly this at a local show when I confided with the blacksmith guys there. The costs they quoted me to make new points was not cost effective and for what that was, I could have bought an Economy Plow. If you are looking to use the plow, explore these options yourself, but if just wanting to restore it as a show piece, no need to replace parts. If you want a working plow, I suggest getting a 14" two-bottom Economy or, later changed simply to FORD, plow. Standard wear parts like moldboards, points, shins, and landsides are available.

When I rebuilt my 14" prior model plow about 12 years ago, I bought both shares and moldboards, finding them hard to find at the time.

About 2 or 3 years later, I tried to find shares and moldboards for a friends prior plow but found none available anywhere. My friend did what others do, and simply bought another plow, keeping his worn one for parts.

Interestingly, I still have my "new" 2X14 prior plow, unused in the barn and will never use it as I have both 2X12 and 2X14 economy models in as new condition as well. Someday, there will be a farm sale....

WOW! What a coincidence! Today I received my copy of "Farm Show". In it is an article of a man who is making plowshares,
moldboards, landsides and other plow parts for old "Deere, IH, Minneapolis-Moline Massey-Furgeson, Ford-Ferguson, Dearborn, A.C.,
Case and Oliver brands".

I am gonna give it a shot at repairing them this is a old share i laid up to it. I do have some old scraper blades that may work better. I stopped by a equipment dealer today and looked at some shares to get a handle on how they should fit... The old guy running the operation filled me in on how his dad use to repair them...

I just restored my Ferguson plow share. I had a John Deere modern, "Rock Share"> They have 4 bolt holes, with 2 near the front, with a
turned down point.
I cut the front 4" off. I used the cut off point as a template and acetyle cut 2 holes to match, and bolted it on to the remainimg
share. I used the remaining portion of the rock share to weld on the landslides.
Missing a tail wheel, so just extended the landslide, by welding on a worn out radex share.
I haven't checked yet to see if JD still stocks the share. It originally went on a JD 555 plow.

Years ago I found a NOS Dearborn Prior Model share for the 14" 10-1 Plow on fleabay and bought it. It sat in my storage bin in the barn for years until I sold it to someone else. It went for $250 -what I use to buy entire plows for. Those shares are unique because they have the landside welded as part of the entire point unit.

OK its staring to make cents$$$ to me... I don't need it but would like the challenge....

Its to wet to plow now I think it will plow again tho, Its now a single bottom. I used the land slide off the front plow to make the repair and cut the beam off on the second bottom. All I had to do was transfer the furrow wheel assy to the front bottom... I was gonna just flip the beam over but that was going to be to much work...
