NO DEAL with the tires mounted... $200 for the rims and what ever it cost to get the tires off and you find the band rusted out they are trash... Now you are stuck with two useless rims and then got to get rid of the tires :(... I had rather have loop rims myself and scallops even better...

That's why he does not take the tires off to get a better price he knows he may end up with scrap rims... BTDT what you see may not be what you get...

"NO DEAL with the tires mounted..."

I've experienced that too. All painted up pretty on the outside.
At least this set isn't painted around the valve stems.
That would make me think they were in better shape than others.

I've got some PA rims that need "a little work" too. ;)

Copy and paste the link for a new rim for 95+22 shipping. I have order stuff from that place before and had good luck so far. Sorry about the url being so long. I’m not sure why it did that

Ford upgraded to looped rims and
scalloped centers in 1955. That made
for less rust entrapment and it's
easier to change the width setting on
your rear tires.
Yes you can buy looped rims for less $
but some guys who are doing a close
restoration on their tractor want the
original "hat type" rims.
Those cheap ebay rims aren't the best
product either. They are only about 1/2
the weight of a good Unverferth and I
have read several posts about them
being terribly out of round and ill
fitting darned things.

Probably the only thing hiding and keeping the stem areas looking together are the stem collars. Judging by the coloring of the metal closest to the valve stems, especially in the bluish colored photo, a light tap with the pointed end of a chipping hammer would go right through. You could poke through those rims in many places I think.

The seller wrote: "Good usable condition rims"

A greater misrepresentation (probably not deliberate) I've rarely heard. :)

You can never tell what you'll find.
I just pulled the tires off these today.
The one that looked the worst on the outside
was the best one inside - and vice versa.
I'm sure these will be ok though.
Next step is I'll hit them with a needle scaler
then they're off to the sand blaster.
I'm relieved that they're not worse than they
are and are saveable.

Ad says 9N but not if 32" or 28". The problem with bigger items is shipping costs.
I have 2 28" "hat" rims that were sandblasted and painted with a self etching primer. I carried them to 5 different tractor shows last year, asking $250 each. No sale. I have several others that are waiting for restoration, $200 each. I may carry them to shows this year.
I have my Farm Collector Show Directory and I am working on a preliminary show/flea market schedule, mostly in Michigan, possibly one or two shows in Ohio.
I have opened my e-mail if anyone is interested in any of these wheels.
