T saw your reply where you said wish mufflers had a petcock. I bought a set of Walker mufflers that are guaranteed for life, 20+ yrs and
they are still on and working fine. The secret is they have a #30 drilled by the manufacture at
the low spot and the moisture escapes.Check out the video, not the best but it shows just how it works.

Looks like the video guy drilled a hole in the end of the muffler as well to let air in. (?)

Those holes he drilled will still let a lot of exhaust gas escape even though it wouldn't matter with a truck or a car with a tight floor or an old trunk floor with no holes. I've located lots of leaks for brazing, that were gassing to the interior, just by feeling the air pressure against my hand.

Now a petcock on the other hand could be drained at the appropriate times.

I'll go with the holes in the muffler I think the amount of carbon monoxide
coming out would be way to little to worry about. Put a petcock on and try it
let us know how it works.

Ya . . .

I've never seen a self tapping petcock
and it wouldn't be flush with the lowest point inside.

So, I'll braze on a little pipe with a screw cap (I've got just the one)
then drill through the pipe into the mufler

GM cars had the small hole at rear of muffler from the factory in the 1960's.
