Back N business

Went to look at an 8n yesterday, 0psi oil
pressure on the gauge at hot idle, lots of
blow by, but great rears and eletric
ignition. I was gonna pass, he said I'll
throw in a 9n, good rears and fronts, looks
like it was maybe rebuilt and never
finished assembly? Came with a new gas tank
and good hood, just need a starter for it.
Okay, deal, they're home now, lol!

The 9n has a industrial or replacement
block, and this tag on the rear end? Never
seen that before.

Good for you! So what's the plan? Put the 9N engine in the 8N?
That "9N" looks like a 2N from here by the way.

A guess on my part, but that tag may have been welded on as
an ID tag. Maybe a company or fleet tractor at some point.

I'm a little taller than you are, but those Knoedler seats get
pitched when I get a tractor that has one on it. If you find them
comfortable, as I know some others do, I'll save them for you.

Better get them inside, it's supposed to snow tomorrow! ;)

Probably just see if we can get the 9n/2n running and decide what to do with the 8n later on in the summer. It wouldn't surprise me if it's a 2n, Haven't looked real close at either one yet.

I kinda like the knoedler seat except it seems to bottom out way too easy. Maybe a stiffer shock, or a different coil over shock? Good project for later on.

"royse id love one of those kneodler seats next time you get one"

I'll keep you in mind and take a look to see if I still have one.
It would be yours for the cost of shipping. They just set me too
close to the steering wheel to work the pedals and get on and
off the tractor comfortably. Personal preference.
Nothing wrong with them otherwise that I know of.
