Matching new rims to old tires

Hello all, the rear rims on my 48 8N need to be replaced, the tires are 12.4 X 28 what are the correct size rims and inner tubes I'll need.
Thanks.

How wide are your current rims?
Tires will fit on 9/10/11 x 28 rims. The profile changes with
rim width, as does the cost. Wider rims generally cost more.
If it were me, I'd go with a 10 or 11 inch width.

The original Ford 8N had 10 x 28 rear tires on 9 x 28 hat rims. Bear in mind they measured tires differently back then -by the inside dimension, and now they measure by the outside dimension. Thus 10 x 28 is the same as todays' 11.2 x 28. Many have switched to the 12.4 x 28 tires on 10" rims. If tires are loaded now with Ca Chl, might want to consider draining it out so it doesn't corrode the rims inside if hasn't done so already. Get new tubes if so.
