Too much OE stuff not fitting on my 2N

Got my brand new battery tray mounted, it actually fit fine. One of the battery hold down rods is rubbing the throttle linkage, so had to grind a 1/8 off it (hold down rod). Now appears the air cleaner is going to interfere with both the long throttle linkage and my choke linkage. What am I missing? The bolt holes on the air cleaner line up fine with the battery tray, so some things are working.

post a pic hard to say but you could have the throttle rod rotated on the wrong side have you had the carb off?

I'll try Griz, don't think it will go another way. One end fits into the battery tray, and the other into a bracket on the flat head. I'm talking about the long one that runs the length of the engine.

I just found a pic that GB posted a while back, and it appears the throttle cable insert on my battery tray may be bent down a little. On his pic, the throttle linkage is just above the a/c bracket and the choke linkage runs in between the a/c and battery tray.

I wouldn't assume that. YT does a great job of providing us parts
but sometimes their suppliers can make a mistake.

I have an OEM air cleaner that I can measure for you if it will help.
Wouldn't get to do it until after work tomorrow night of course.
It is not for sale at this point. Does yours have the optional through the
hood pipe and pre-cleaner? Shouldn't matter on mounting, just curious.

Where you finding brand new OEM
parts???? Nowadays they are all
aftermarket reproduction, Ford hasn't
made tractors in decades, some
aftermarket parts are better than
others, some require tweaking and some
are perfect right from the box. Still
not many 80 year old machines with parts
availability like these tractors have.

Fair points but don't get snickety on me. I would be more accurate to say OE spec reprod's. I'll have to pay more attention to specific years as Tim indicates, I didn't realize they were tinkering over the 9N and 2N production years.

Thanks for the offer Lawson. I will not be able to tinker until the weekend and I'll let you know. Mine does not have the through the roof piece.
