OT - Kidde fire extinguisher recall

My public service announcement for the month: check your Kidde made fire extinguishers. With all the garages, barns, cars, tractors, etc around here, I have 14 fire extinguishers. I gathered them all up and called Kidde at 855.271.0773. Talked to a person after being on hold for 15 minutes. Found out that all 14 fire extinguishers are defective. To include the ones on my tractors! They will be sending new ones.

I had only one but just a heads up that they want the bad ones back which I failed to realize and threw it away, hopefully they won't bother me too much. They did send me a replacement for the one defective unit. They send a shipping label and ask you to use the same box.
 
I have two extinguishers in the house and they both are covered by this recall and I will get new ones for free. Seems they sure kept this under wraps. I have one more to check at my cabin. This site continues to amaze me!!
 
I got my replacement for the only one I had about a month ago. No problems. They sent a prepaid shipping label for the old one.

Neighbor said he has a total of 4, 2 of which were subject to recall. He got 2 in the mail w/ no indication of which 2 they replaced, despite giving them model & serial numbers of the defective units! Back to the website in order to id the 2 that need to be sent back.
 
Thanks Bruce I had forgotten all about this. I have one in the barn that is a candidate that I will take a look at tonight.
