After having a few needs for a tachometer at home here lately, and reading a recent post about them. What kind of tach tool do you have or use?

I have a contact style at work that you physically press against a spinning shaft but in my needs at home recently (ATV engine and 2N) it will not work as I cannot get to the crankshaft.

(quoted from post at 09:24:59 12/18/17) It was mentioned about a sensor wire that wraps around a plug wire

Here is just one of many.

TOH

I have one of these tachometers on one of my Case garden tractors. I took it off to use on my 8N to set the governed engine speed. It didn't give me an accurate reading while hooked up to a spark plug wire. I tried it on the coil wire, but you have to be careful not to get the tachometer lead too close to any of the other plug wires, otherwise it will give you another faulty reading.
