I am hooking up a proofmeter and having issues on the gov end. is there different size cable ends on gov. the proofmeter hooked up just fine. wondering if I got wrong cable for gov.

What I understand the cable end does not fit inside the insert on gov if we are talking about the same think, cannot get the cable in far enough to screw cap on. the proofmeter cable went in just fine and tighten up..

I installed a new proof meter and cable on my 8N with no problem.

I was doing something later on my 8N which required me to remove the cable from the governor. I had a heck of a time getting it back in there. If you take a mirror and a flashlight and look in the hole in the governor, you will see the slot. You have to get the cable end in the right position for it to fit in there. Sometimes it's a PIA. Once you get it in the right position, it will slide in just fine.

I found it easiest to hook up the governor end first, spinning the proofmeter end of the cable with one hand until the governor end slides home. Screw that end down, and bump the motor over if necessary to get the proofmeter end to align. Tighten both ends snug, and enjoy!
