32 inch rim

Guy brought in a 9 by 32 inch wheel off a 9N, rim is pretty solid, only problem is the band on the inside, it's missing about a quarter of it, my question is are they worth any thing, he wanted 50.00 dollars, don't know if that is a good price or way to expensive. Thanks in advance Rod

The original rear rims used on the early Ford-Ferguson 9N tractor were the 8" x 32" six-loop style as pictured below. These are rare and very desirable for early 9N restorers. They were used on probably the first 800 or so tractors, maybe less. The infamous 'hat rim' style replaced it after, then the 28" style was offered. If you have a hat rim, those 32" ones too are desirable in decent shape. Many have made internal repairs successfully so you'll get a better idea on condition by posting pictures. Tire size was 9 x 32 by the way.

I have repaired several rims as you describe by removing the old band and welding a new one in. Good 32" rims can go fpor up to $200.
