8n paint question

i painted my 8n sheet metal with a small foam roller. It looks ok. It
has a slight rough finish to it. Was wondering if buffing it would give
it a more smoother finish.

Or any other ideas. Thanks.

You can try it it won't hurt leave it out in the sun in about 20 years it will smooth out....

You should have used the same paint in a rattle can and fogged over the paint about every 15 min were you have just painted fog'N thins the paint for a better flow it would not be perfect but much better than just the roller... If its a worker I would live with what you have.

go to harbor freight and buy you an airless spray gun. take light sand paper and sand your hood down and use the airless spray gun to paint it. just keep the sprayer 10-12 inches from metal when painting. might have to do a little trial and error on something else but it will put a good even coat on it.

What type of paint did you use?

Buffing alone would take too long. Block sanding is the only get it smooth and then buff to shine.

Before air compressors, early auto manufactures painted cars with a brush and then cut/buff to shine.
