CRANK WON'T TURN

I had a 9n ford tractor engine rebuild but it wouldn't run right. I replaced the carb. the distributor and it still wouldn't run right. You could turn the crank with a wrench easy. So i decided to tear it down myself. I lapped the valves and rehoned the cylinders. I torqued the piston rods to 35 ft.lb. After that i couldn't turn the crankshaft , it wouldn't budge. I loosen the rod nuts and it would turn fine. Does anybody have any answers. It doesn't make sense.

makes sense to me. You have the rod bearings/caps installed incorrectly.

The rod caps must remain with the rods they came off. Mixed rods and caps won't work.

Match the numbers.
