Not mine, but title worth a laugh

At that price he can call it anything he wants. Look at all the 'extras' included. A good deal as long as engine isn't welded up and most original parts are there, I do see an alternator but maybe he has the original generator. Too far for me -San Antoine...but gotta wonder of it was in the flood/hurricane zone...

That is a scam.
I have seen that same ad on about 30 different craigslists. He has a couple more like it. One worded slightly different and one with a JD tractor but all incorrectly phrased or worded.

Here is the same ad for the same tractor in New York city. The grass should be a dead give away unless he has it parked in central park. Last week there was a nice ford 5000 for $1000

Probably is a scam. There was a woman recently near me that caught her husband cheating on her. She kicked him out and put most of his tools on the front lawn and said they were free, first come first served.

will hitting the "prohibit" button send a note to CL administrators alerting them to a scam? I do that but do not know if it does any good?

He doesn't have any tractor, but he likely has a story about how he is out of the country on ministry work and you can send the money to so and so who will get it out of secure storage, that's why you can't view it first, and then it will be yours lol

Perhaps there are so many quality used tractors for sale in central Manhattan that he had to lower his price to compete.

Same tractor - or a clone of it - is for sale in Des Moines, Iowa. I don't think I want one with that many highway miles!

I saw the same ad in Boise Id. and I have seen numerous ads like it on Craigslist with other "too good to be true " prices for other autos and trucks. Here is the reply you get or something equally ludicrous:

Hi again,

I'm a flight attendant at American Airlines and because I'm away most of the time I will not be able to deal in person. Before leaving I had pre-arranged the deal with eBay so my presence is not necessary. The tractor is in their possession ready to be delivered. eBay will handle this transaction for me. The total amount that you will pay is $1500 with shipping and transfer fees included. You will receive the tractor in max 48 hours and you will have the chance to inspect it for 5 days. eBay department will hold and insure your money throughout the inspection. If by any reason you find something you don't like about it you can send it back at my expense and eBay will send you a full refund.
I'm sure it won't be the case because the tractor is in excellent condition. It will come with all the necessary paperwork. You will receive all the original documents.
If you are interested to buy my tractor please send me your full name, full shipping address(street address, city, state and zip code) and phone number so I can register the transaction with eBay and they will reply you with more details and information about this transaction.

Thanks, hope to do business with you soon!

I guess there must be "one born every minute" to fall for a scam like this.

CV,

Well one thing for sure, he isn't an English speaking American.

"If you are interested to buy my tractor" :D

Some friends were looking for a small motor home and found one on C-list for a really good price compared to others they were looking at. Called and a nice lady told them all about it and what features it had and all that. When they ask where to meet to look at it she said that it was in Kansas City (they were in rural SE Ohio) at a friends house. I told them it was a scam and to forget it and hard to convince them of that, but to tell the lady when they called back that they have a good friend in the KC area that is willing to look at it for them if she'll just give them the address. Betting she will hang up on them and that would convince them. They gave up on that "deal" but did buy one off of C-list at a local small dealership.
