After taking out my hydraulic pump and attempting to change out the parts, I have some questions that the manual does not address.
1. I noticed that my new Scotch yokes have ears on the castings whereas my old ones did not. I was just wondering whether those ears are supposed to go up or down.
2. Also does anyone have any tips for getting those pistons back into the cylinders? I have my old splined pto shaft in for a guide, but no success so far.
3. I wondered whether the valve chamber gaskets should have sealer on them? My old gaskets appeared to have as they were really hard to scrape off.
4. Finally, is the original pump casting supposed to be aluminum or cast iron?
Thanks for the help. W/R
