Hello all, not sure the best place to put
this so feel free to move it. A customer of
mine brought a flyer for his father's
estate auction to hang in my window
yesterday. I tried to explain how rare what
he had was and that a local auction wasnt
the best place to sell it but.....anyway I
thought I'd try and help them out so here's
what they have.

1939 Ford 9N SN501 Aluminum hood,dash,and
gear box. I asked the condition and he said
it's all nice and straight but *cringe*
needs repainted and that his father has
owned it for at least 50 years.

Don't have his phone number but if anybody
is interested I can ask him when he comes
in today. Or if it's allowed I can find out
the name of the auction house and post the
info.

Thanks for posting. I posted a link to this on the other Ford board. More picture would be nice.

Lol a bad picure of a bad picture was all I could manage this morning. I'll ask him if he can send me more. Is there anything specific I should tell him to get?

He just came in and I asked him for more pictures and I kid you not his response was "OK but it won't look the same as that one we took the half tracks and loader off because the auction people said we'd get more out of it".

I'll post more as I get them.

It looks like they used the old 36 through 39 ford passenger car and lt truck front hubs so they could use the car tires and wheels, on the front.

Also has sherman step down or step up trans. Ask him when he pulls the lever back towards the operator do in slow the tractor down or speed it up. Step ups are a dime a dozen step downs are more rare and would add more value.

any way of getting more pics need to see right side of engine/manifold/generator side and also a picture of the dash standing above the steering wheel....thanks

It should also have some numbers on the flat spot on the dash above the steering wheel. You might want to tell him to make sure those number are visible.
