Possible, yes. Mine was because the fire was more aft.
But if the fire melted a seal or burned the gasket I'd replace it.
In fact, I did replace mine, just so I didn't have to worry.

You are ready to get'er done... I bolt the clutch assy up to the flywheel then wedge a 3/8" nut tween each finger and the cover. Unbolt it and its ready to install when installed pry the nuts out are catch them while doing the final tigh'N on the cover... BTW make sure the bolt shoulders do not bottom in the flywheel before the head of the bolt is tight again the cover...
