2N Starter ????

This guy he has a rebuilt starter for a 2N...I've never seen one like this before.

I could be wrong, but I think hes mistaken. That's a pump or plow motor.If not I'll learn something too. jstpa

Winch motor. Note the three battery cable terminals. Does forward and reverse. The spline shaft fits into a worm which turns the gear that drives the drum.

Nashranch,It's not a starter for a N.It looks like a reversible DC motor for a golf cart,winch ect.

I concur with the others -it is NOT even a FORD starter, let alone a FORD TRACTOR starter. All 9N and 2N starters never had a solenoid and used a 1-wire connection for one. This one has two posts, has TORX barrel/field coil securing screws -never around then either. The guy is obviously mistaken -he may have had it rebuilt but it was never on his 2N Tractor.
