started to refurbish an 8N. Had it running well, hydraulics worked,
metal pretty rough. Installed lots of new (and used) parts as cleaning & repainting progressed. Far too much to list here. Had to let it set for a year (health). Wouldn't run - no compression. Had one head bolt twisted off when I started, so figured it was head gasket. Replaced - still no compression. Stuck rings? Pulled the engine & tore it down, looked too good to be true. Looks like late partial o'haul. Machine shop wants to replace sleeves, valve kit & turn crank. In the mean time, I have developed periphial neuropathy, and can't hardly hold a pencil. If there is anybody in N. Florida area that would be interested in completing this project, I'd make them a great deal. I'm sure I can't put it back together.
