Mismatched Rear Tires

OK so this is probably a dumb question, but I’m going to ask anyway. :)

How bad on our little red bellies are mismatched rear tire sizes? I’ve got one that has a pair of 13.6-28 tires on it, but I can see at least a 1 to 2 inch difference in diameter between the two tires. Both mark the same size, different manufacturers.

Does it hurt anything to run them this way? Interested in everybody’s opinions. Looking at a new set eventually, soon as I can mortgage my first born. :)

I don't believe it hurts anything to run 2 different sized tires on the back of a slow moving tractor. I have two tractors that have run for years that way and have never had any problems. It does look a little odd and if it has a loader on it the bucket will hit the ground at an angle. My two cents worth Greg NE

It keeps the differential working as if you were constantly turning one direction so it will wear the parts faster than if not turning. But then you are not going to be putting that many miles on it that it should ever wear out the parts. Now if it was your truck that you constantly drove at highway speeds for miles then yes it would not take long to destroy the differential. Especially if it is a limited slip unit.

MD I owned a farm tire shop for 22+ years. These guys are guessing, see if you can find 1 used tire to match
the better 1 you have and have it installed asap. Been there too many times in those years.

Running mismatched tires would save a lot of milky hydraulic oil from having to be changed.

There are two inches difference in the two rears pictured here too.
Thing is, they're a matched pair. Bought new at the same time.
They also have exactly the same air pressure in them.

The one on the left rear (right in the picture) is filled with Chloride.
I took the CaCl out of the right rear, installed a new tube and
filled it with air only. Once I get that rim painted I'll do the left one.
