What were the brackets on the steering used for?
Were they associated with the rear brackets?

Royse -I'm just tossin' a spitball here, but I think they all worked a FEL of some sort, maybe cable operated, but I just came across an 8N with two strange brackets on the rear axle fender mounts. They are NOT ho-made, are formed of angle iron but the way they are bent is definitely from a brake press of some sort. They are also symmetrical, a Left Hand and a Right Hand. I haven't looked at my Dearborn Loaders MPC yet, but I'd bet they are in there.
