New User
I have a Mitsubishi alternator on my '41 9N and I'm having trouble figuring out what the box is plugged up to it and where to get a new one. Can anyone help?

What is this on?
And telling us what it's doing (or not doing) would help.
I suspect it is an external regulator.
I don't know where you will find one.
Maybe an automotive starter/generator shop would know.
Before I put too much time and effort into finding one I would dump the Mitsubishi and put a GM/Delco 10-SI in it's place. Costs about $45 for a new one and comes with a lifetime guarantee.

Here is a "universal" voltage regulator that might work. It looks like it has more wires than yours.

(quoted from post at 19:54:32 08/20/17) My post says it's on a '41 9N along with the question of what is it.
ome people don't read, thay just respond! Sadly. It is a regulator module. Don't know where you get one. You can get a Mitsubishi alternator with built in regulator , which would be a better fix, in my opinion. Also, if physical size is not important, the old standby Delco 10-SI is a good alternative at about as cheap as you can get.

My WAG its off a Dodge, Ford, Plymouth, Eagle, Mazda Import. That contraption is a solid state voltage regulator that's non OEM to replace the original external voltage regulator. In its day it was probably OK... We use to convert them to a GM 10SD that came with a conversion harness to adapt to the OEM voltage regulator.

Back up and punt its time to move on to a GM 10SI life will be good...

Jock - Every voltage regulator I've seen has more than the 3 wires this thing has on it. Makes it more confusing as to what it is. I'm surprised there are no markings or part numbers.
